Oldham Athletic vs Peterborough United Match Preview Take 2

Right I decided to do another match preview for this fixture because the original game was postponed due to a frozen pitch and hopefully this time round I get to go to the match.

Not much has changed since the last time these two teams were supposed to meet as Oldham are still in the relegation places and Peterborough are still in the hunt for the playoffs. However since the scheduled first game, Oldham have had a change of manager recruiting fan favourite John Sheridan back to Boundary Park.

The Posh come into this game, after getting back to winning ways, away at struggling Swindon Town. Before the win against Swindon, Peterborough had lost heavily against Bury and Chelsea and they hadn't picked up a win in the league since the 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic.

Oldham as mentioned, have a new manager and will look to rectify the teams bad form as of late. The Latics have only picked up 2 wins from their previous 10, with their last win coming a couple of weeks ago against Gillingham at home.

The goal scoring threat for the Latics will come in the form of Billy Mckay. The on-loan Wigan man has scored 4 goals this season and although that doesn't seem like a lot at this stage, the former Inverness man is still one to watch out for. For creativity John Sheridan will look to Ollie Banks, who has laid on 4 assists in total this season.

As for the Posh, their goal scoring threat comes from former Exeter man Tom Nicholls who has bagged 7 goals in the league and 10 in total in all competitions. Every team needs creativity and for Peterborough they have found it in former Gateshead man Marcus Maddison. Maddison has notched up 10 assists in total so far this season.

Both teams will be looking for all 3 points for different reasons, in what promises to be a very intriguing game.
