The Football League season is coming to an end and there are still promotion places to be fought for in League One as we reach the season finale. One of the key games near the top sees promotion chasing Bolton Wanderers entertain Peterborough United.
Bolton Wanderers come in to this game knowing that if they avoid defeat they will seal promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
Bolton were denied promotion at the weekend, due to Fleetwood Town winning their respective game against Gillingham. If Bolton were to lose and Fleetwood won their remaining game against Port Vale, Bolton will miss out on automatic promotion.
As for Peterborough, this game means nothing to their season as they look forward to what next season may bring to them. The highest position Peterborough can finish is 11th and the lowest they can finish is 11th, so this match could see manager Grant McCann introduce some youngsters within the first team.
Bolton's last game, was in a 2-0 win against Port Vale with goals from David Wheater and Gary Madine. Manager Phil Parkinson spoke about promotion after the game at the weekend.
"We said it was always going to be tough and every point we’ve gained this season has been hard-fought.

Peterborough's last game was in a 4-2 win against Bristol Rovers. Young midfielder Leo Da-Silva Lopes grabbed himself a brace. Peterborough manager Grant McCann was happy that his team put on a performance in their final home game of the season.
