England suffered a disappointing defeat against France, losing 3-2 in Paris despite France being down to ten-men for the majority of the second half. Harry Kane bagged himself a brace as England go down to the young French side.
Despite being a man down, France looked like the only team who would eventually go on and win and maybe could have scored more than three.
England started the game off well and they took the lead within the first ten minutes. The ball was switched over to Raheem Sterling, who then cleverly flicked it on to Ryan Bertrand on the overlap, he then played in talisman Harry Kane who tapped home from close range.
The hosts started to get on top of proceedings and Borussia Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele had the chance 15 minutes in to level it up. Dembele was played in brilliantly by Kylian Mbappe but Dembele put it wide of Tom Heaton in the England net.
England's defence was undone 22 minutes in as a free-kick came in, Olivier Giroud had his header saved but Samuel Umtiti pounced on the rebound to make it level.
France took the lead just before half time as Dembele's shot was saved by Heaton and Djibril Sidibe was there for the rebound.
Minutes into the second half, England were awarded a penalty after Raphael Varane brought down Dele Alli in the box. There was some deliberation with the VAR system and the referee decided to stick by his original decision and he showed Varane a straight red.
Captain for the game Harry Kane buried the spot kick past Hugo Lloris. Kane has now scored eleven in his last five games for club and country.
France however, continued to push for winner as Mbappe hit the bar after a fine piece of skill. Dembele then found the winner, placing his shot past Jack Butland (who replace Heaton at halftime) into the bottom left hand corner.
